@youngchrisgirl, golly, feeling shy and noob right now. I have no idea how to address you..(!).. I’m new here, and I was hoping to ask a favor like wondering if you might kindly recommend an episode or link to get started on Liam’s podcast stuff? I’m not local, I dig history.. this post pretty well sums up many of my interests generally, so thanks in advance if you or anyone else feels it, and jumps in.. I’d love recommendations.
Ok I got it. Replying to self here, hoping @EastBay_Yesterday, and @youngchrisgirl (hi!! 🥹), are ok with me mucking up your comments..
But!! It’s good. I found a wonderful 1st podcast to jump in with, I mean not hard. So many exciting subjects..
And.. yay.. intuitively zeroed in on the best.. “Ep. Jul 7, 2023 - Long Lost Puzzle: What happened to the grizzly bears and old growth redwoods?”.. which is a replay originally aired 2018, and.. and.. it’s first in the series, “Long Lost Oakland”!!
As a local historian in the Far East Bay, when I get asked "What's the point of history?" (which usually isn't very often), I reply, "Well, that's where all the great stories come from." If I've done my job in the presentation, that usually satisfies most people. I can tell you're very good at telling stories.
Nearly all of the subjects you’ve touched on are of interest to me.. racism, electoral rights (anti-corruption).. land misuse, corporate and eco responsibility, restitution, restoration and indigenous heritage, land rights and stewardship.. Great essay!! Photos, radio, centenarians, omg... everything!! Now I need to listen to you and decide if I also like your vocal voice, Liam, as much as I’m enamored with your thinking and writing voice. Yes! History is well worth studying! Love. ❤️
@EastBay_Yesterday, your voice is good. I’m listening to you now.. on iPhone speaker low volume it’s really early in the morning.. using Overcast app for podcasts. It allows me to fiddle with speed and boost, so you sound pretty awesome.
See above for what I’m listening to if you’ll please note I’ve sadly appropriated @youngchrisgirl’s comment.. ugh.
Speaking of poisonous gas in Cesar Chavez park, methane leaks from repurposed dump turned Shoreline Amphitheater made the news shortly after opening. Below is a quote from Wikipedia.
“In its opening year, a fan attending a Steve Winwood concert flicked a cigarette lighter and ignited methane that had been leaking from a landfill beneath the theater. Several small fires were reported that season.”
Oh please don't edit out your laughter. That complainer is just looking to be unhappy all the time.

So glad you found one, @Trish Reader!
Thanks for your kind response to my exuberance. A bit over the top, umm.. you’re very kind. Thank you. 🥹✨

Hey Liam, If you want to check out some serious laughter by a couple of podcasters, check out No Dogs In Space.

That's insane! Also - Shoreline is probably my least favorite venue in the bay area
this was SO terrific!
