I pay archive.org every month to help keep the electronic past alive. Our libraries, as you say, are irreplaceable too. I say if it's already online, don't collect the paper. (Says the guy with a stubborn rock collection.)
I can relate. I have a rare collection of radical, political, art, poetry, pamphlets, artifacts, first edition & out of print books, etc . Some accompanying personal notes written to and from my grandmother, who worked at KPFA between around 1965-1980s. I have plenty for an exhibit. I know nothing about curating but I know it needs to be done.
I really really loved this newsletter! It got me to slow down and take a deep breath on a busy day--- really thankful for folks like you who preserve and remind us about our history.
Thanks for sharing all those personal stories relating to Oakland, collecting, and the many values of preserving, enjoying and learning from History; a precious gift from one generation to the next.

Just remember: with great archives come great responsibilities. Seriously, have a plan on where it should eventually go. I’m working on my plan.
